Within the first few days of your arrival back home, a member of the LIFEtime Aftersales team will call you to ensure that you are happy with the service that you have received so far and to answer any early questions and let you know what to expect next.

 

Financial Advice

When the time comes to pay the deposit on your property you made need help transferring it into the local currency of the country where you have purchased.

We have established relationships with reputable companies that offer MacAnthony customers excellent rates of exchange and can save you money on transfer fees. Let us put you in touch so you can obtain a competitive quote for transferring your deposit.

Most of our clients do have some questions pertaining to legal issues and obtaining a mortgage abroad. Again, part of the Aftersales service is to help you find the answer to these queries as they arise and we can recommend excellent professional mortgage advisors and lawyers.

 

Return Visits

Whilst not always a requirement, a short visit before completion is recommended to ensure that everything is in place before the signing of the title deeds. When you do make return visits we offer a selection of hotel accommodation packages ranging from 3 to 5 star depending on your budget and we also include airport collection when you book one of these visits. To give you the freedom to visit your property and tour the area when you are here, hiring a car is advisable and we can arrange that for you.

When the time does come to complete your purchase, you will be given the option to either sign for the title deeds yourself or instruct your lawyer to sign on your behalf. If you do choose to sign the completion documents yourself we will be happy to accompany you and assist you through the legal completion procedures, or if you prefer we can liaise with your lawyer and collect the keys for you.

 

Insurance

Unfortunately accidents can happen, therefore, when you have purchased your home it is important that you have the correct insurance policy to cover the building, its contents and of course any public liability you might need if you plan to rent out your property. As insurance needs can vary from country to country our Aftersales team will be delighted to help you understand the types of policy available and to guide you in choosing the best possible policy for your property, its contents and your use of the property.

If you are leaving your property unattended for long periods, you may like to consider getting extra protection for your property such as an alarm system or security bars. Again we can source competitive quotes on your behalf.

It is also advisable to take out life insurance to the value of your mortgage and if you relocate to the country where you have purchased, medical insurance is also bly recommended. Aftersales can assist you in sourcing a competitive quote.

Furniture

Whether you plan to rent out your property or live in it yourself, you will need to transform it from an empty shell into a home. Our interior design service can range from providing a few simple necessities, a full furniture package, or even a full bespoke interior design service.

Most of our clients however choose to buy one of our specially designed furniture packages. Available in a selection of styles and ranges these "no nonsense" packs have been researched and designed to provide you with everything you need to enjoy your new property. We insist on using only the best quality materials for our packages which include all furniture, lights, pictures, accessories, TV and DVD, curtains, kitchen utensils, linen and bathroom fixtures. Leaving you to simply arrive with your suitcase!

 

Whenever possible we advise clients to order furniture packages at least 10 to 12 weeks prior to completion to allow for delivery and installation. Orders however may be taken up to 12 months in advance to secure the price.

Although MacAnthony only sell the highest quality developments it is standard practice on all new properties to undertake a visual inspection of the property. This comprehensive checklist and inspection service (referred to as a snagging list) is designed to ensure the finish of the property is of the highest possible standard and that there are no minor defects. Once we have completed the inspection, on the rare occasion that there are any minor problems, we make sure that the developer undertakes the necessary repairs.

We recommend a deep clean of your property to all our clients. New properties can be very dusty and not as clean as you would like, as they have been exposed to the elements and had numerous workmen in and out! Our deep clean actually involves two cleans, one before the arrival of the furniture and then a lighter clean once the furniture has been delivered and installed. Leaving your new property dust free and sparkling for your first arrival.

 

Our professional recommendation service only recommends trade professionals that have demonstrated to us that that they are the best, which is why we are confident when recommending their services. Most apartments come with air conditioning and heating pre-installed, but if not we can supply a competitive quote with a reputable company.

We offer the best advice on what satellite/cable packages to pick for rental apartments or for home use as well as organising and supervising the installation. Should you require any extra work on your property such as painting, decorating or maintenance, we can discuss your requirements and arrange for the work to be done.

 

Renting out your Property

We appreciate that when buying a property many of our clients wish to generate a rental income. If renting out your property, either short or long term is of interest to you, we will introduce you to our busy rentals division so that they can talk you through your potential earnings and the range of services they can provide for your property.
